College Station Epoxy Flooring has been installing resinous floors and polished concrete in College Station, Texas for more than 20 years. We work across the Brazos Valley, from Bryan and Navasota out to Brenham, Huntsville and the smaller communities in between, on everything from a single residential garage to a commercial kitchen that has to pass inspection.

What We Do

Worker kneeling with both palms flat on a bare slab, inspecting the surface before work begins

We install epoxy, polyaspartic and polyurea coatings, flake and metallic systems, urethane cement, polished concrete, concrete resurfacing and pool deck finishes. We also do the preparation work that makes any of those possible, including diamond grinding, shot blasting and the removal of coatings that have already failed.

That last category is a larger part of our work than it should be. Most of the failed floors we are called out to look at came apart for reasons that were measurable before anyone opened a pail, which is why our estimates start with testing rather than with a product recommendation.

How We Quote

We find out what the slab is sitting on and what is moving through it before we put a number on the job. In this area that means establishing the depth to the clay horizon under the slab and taking moisture readings, because water perching on that clay through winter and spring is the most common cause of coating failure locally and it is invisible without testing.

The proposal then names the product, the system build and the mil thickness, so what was quoted can be checked against what was installed once the floor is down. That is a deliberately awkward thing for a contractor to write, and it is the reason to write it.

What We Will Not Claim

Texas licenses no flooring, coatings or painting contractor, so any company in this trade claiming to be licensed is describing something else. What we carry and what can be verified is general liability cover, workers compensation, a Texas sales and use tax permit and our city contractor registration.

We also will not tell you a coating stops ground movement. A coating is a film that follows the slab beneath it, and where a crack is still working we treat it as a joint and say plainly that it may show again. Contractors who promise otherwise are making a claim their own warranties usually exclude.

Working Across the Brazos Valley

The ground changes considerably across the area we cover, and so does the right specification. The claypan under College Station behaves differently from the shrink-swell country around Brenham and Bellville, differently again from the deep sands at Hearne and Hempstead, and differently from the non-expanding clays out toward Magnolia and Pinehurst. That is why we assess each slab rather than applying one regional answer, and why we would rather turn down a job than install a floor we do not believe will hold.
